LANSING, Mich. — Michigan Senate Republicans elected their caucus leadership team in unanimous votes today to serve during the 2027-2030 term, choosing Sen. Roger Hauck as Senate Republican leader.
Hauck, R-Mount Pleasant, was reelected Tuesday to represent the 34th District.
“I’m honored to have the support of my colleagues and the opportunity to lead our caucus. We have a strong team ready to tackle the challenges facing Michigan families,” said Hauck. “Our state has fallen behind in jobs, education and too many other areas. Republicans are committed to offering a better path forward.”
Hauck grew up on a beef and dairy farm, attended Beal City High School and later graduated from Central Michigan University.
He served as a Union Township trustee before being elected to the Michigan House of Representatives in 2016. Hauck served three terms in the House before being elected to the Senate in 2022.
Hauck and his wife, Raschelle, have two adult children.
“I believe in working across the aisle to get things done for the people we represent, and that will not change in my new role,” Hauck said. “I congratulate Senate Majority Leader-elect Camilleri and his leadership team, and I look forward to finding common ground wherever possible. But we must also be realistic about Michigan’s challenges. Republicans will stand firm against proposals that raise costs, hurt families or move our state further in the wrong direction.”
